Subject: [OASIS Issue Tracker] Created: (OFFICE-3814) ODF 1.1 Reverse Incorrect COR1 use of "xlink" instead of "link"
ODF 1.1 Reverse Incorrect COR1 use of "xlink" instead of "link" --------------------------------------------------------------- Key: OFFICE-3814 URL: http://tools.oasis-open.org/issues/browse/OFFICE-3814 Project: OASIS Open Document Format for Office Applications (OpenDocument) TC Issue Type: Bug Affects Versions: ODF 1.1, ODF 1.0 Errata 01 Environment: This defect is a consequence of ODF 1.0 Errata 01 having an incorrect use of "xlink" where "link" is intended. Reporter: Dennis Hamilton Assignee: Dennis Hamilton Fix For: ODF 1.1 Errata 01 In ODF 1.0/1.1 section 9.3.3/Object Data, the bullet item for the xlink:href attribute describes what the link accomplishes. ODF 1.0 Errata 01 (and IS26300:2006 COR1) use the word "xlink" in one place in the added text where, in context, the correct term is "link" -- what the link accomplishes and what it references, not what the name of the attribute is: The corrected text should read o The xlink:href attribute links to the object representation as follows: - For objects that have an XML representation, the link references the sub package of the object. For objects that have an XML representation, the representation of the object is equivalent to a separate document representing that object, except it is stored in a folder in the document package. The link references that folder. In ODF 1.0 Errata 01 and COR1, the word "link" in the last sentence is spelled "xlink". [There is entirely different language in ODF 1.2, where this case is broadened. This correction does not raise any inconsistency.] -- This message is automatically generated by JIRA. - If you think it was sent incorrectly contact one of the administrators: http://tools.oasis-open.org/issues/secure/Administrators.jspa - For more information on JIRA, see: http://www.atlassian.com/software/jira
