Greetings!

Chat notes from today's meeting, draft minutes to follow:

Hope everyone is at the start of a great week!

Patrick

PS: Do remember that everyone can type in the chat!

*************Chat log*************

Patrick: 09:35 roll call
Patrick: 70% quorom
Patrick: Agenda - approved unanimous consent
Patrick: Patrick - Minutes of 2015-11-23 - approved unanimous consent
Patrick: https://issues.oasis-open.org/browse/OFFICE-1148
Patrick: Some features have been implemented in LibreOffice, from the
author of the proposal -
Patrick: Stahl - move to 1.3 and he will ask the author if the
implementation is complete and same as his proposal or to write a
different proposal
Patrick: https://issues.oasis-open.org/browse/OFFICE-1149
Patrick: Jos- Set to 1.3 and consider its status on feedback from propos
er
Regina Henschel: https://issues.oasis-open.org/browse/OFFICE-3731 is
also about regression
Patrick: https://issues.oasis-open.org/browse/OFFICE-1151
Jos van den Oever: Regina notes that moving average is not a regression.
Patrick: Regina - when you make a regression you get a formula for it,
when you make a moving average you don't get a formula from it
Regina Henschel: Movering average does not result in a formula.
Patrick: May need a filter type instead of a regression for moving avera
ge
Jos van den Oever: Workflow in e.g. origin is to apply filter (e.g.
binning or moving average) before or separate from curve fitting
Jos van den Oever: (input from resident scientist)
Patrick: would have 3 languages, open formula, MathML and S+
Patrick: for formulas
Patrick: How do they differ? bindings, perhaps it would be feasible to
have an application to translate between them -
Patrick: R can already be included as a script and invoked by a plug-in
Jos van den Oever: "there is even an R plugin to process R-code
embedded in an ODF-stream"
Patrick: Jos - make 1151 ODF-Later
Patrick: https://issues.oasis-open.org/browse/OFFICE-1157
Patrick: MathML is presentation not computation.
Patrick: MathML can be used for calculation - we don't distinguish the
part of the MathML that should be used -
Patrick: should we clarify which part of MathML we meant?
Jos van den Oever: http://www.w3.org/TR/MathML2/ chapter 3 is
presentation, chapter 4 is content
Patrick: there wasn't this distinction when we first wrote ODF,
Patrick: Regina says there is no real support for computational MathML
Patrick: Q: Should we clarify in 1.3 that MathML in ODF is chapter 3,
presentation?
Jos van den Oever: A ODF 1.0 already referenced MathML with has this
distinction
Patrick: Proposal: Leave ODF standard as is and move 1157 to ODF-Later
so someone could propose a mapping proposal as an implementation.
Patrick: would also move 1190 to ODF-Later
Patrick: set 1157 and 1190 to ODF-Later - unanimous consent
Patrick: https://issues.oasis-open.org/browse/OFFICE-1159
Patrick: consent to close
Patrick: https://issues.oasis-open.org/browse/OFFICE-1221
Patrick: consent to close 1221
Patrick: https://issues.oasis-open.org/browse/OFFICE-1225
Patrick: Other standards for secure XML?
Patrick: Patrick to research 1225 for next meeting
Patrick: call closes 10:34 AM
