Subject: [OASIS Issue Tracker] (OFFICE-3767) [text] Proposal: contextual spacing of paragraphs

    [ https://issues.oasis-open.org/browse/OFFICE-3767?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=69493#comment-69493 ]

Regina Henschel commented on OFFICE-3767:
-----------------------------------------

The term "same style" is still not clear. Test this in LibreOffice: Make five paragraphs, assign them the paragraph style "Text body". Make sure the paragraph style "Text body" has set a space after of e.g. 0.5cm and the option "Don't add space between paragraph of the same style" is checked. You see that the space between the paragraph vanishes. Now take the second paragraph and assign a background-color green and the forth paragraph and assign a background-color red. Notice, that the paragraphs still have 0cm space. Save file.
Examine the file text. You will find, that the sequence of paragraphs have style nameassigned e.g. P1 P2 P1 P3 P1. The UI will still say, that all of them have the style "Text body", but in file text the style-names are different because of the direct formatting. And of cause because of different background-colors, the styles are indeed different.

Because Word too has 0cm space between the paragraphs and the purpose of the new attribute is to describe this behavior, the wording "same style" is not clear enough as the styles are actually different.
