Subject: RE: [openc2] Groups - OpenC2 Language Specification uploaded
Alan, The 150 + page doc is in fact raw and needs work. The portion that will be brought up to ballot is 13 pages and simply has the layout, actions and the bulk of the front matter. He removed the parts that were
still under discussion and those pieces will be addressed in the Dec timeframe.
The language SC broke this down into four distinct steps:
·
On the October TC meeting, he is focusing on the document layout, some of the front matter and the actions.
·
IN the November meeting, focus on the property tables, targets, encoding
·
December on the responses, command options and any unresolved matters.
·
In January the actuator information and any unresolved issues.
The logic behind breaking it into these four pieces is: Systematically agree on smaller portions and proceed forward, rather than tackle a single 150+ page document and (in the worst case) rehash issues that
were previously resolved. IN the context of the pending motion, please look at the 13 page document (which is a subset of the larger doc that you have been reviewing)
Thank you Very Respectfully, Joe Brule From: openc2@lists.oasis-open.org [mailto:openc2@lists.oasis-open.org]
On Behalf Of Allan Thomson Duncan – thanks for the heads up. At this point, I’ve reviewed a lot of the google document and I’m concerned that we would push for a ballot on such raw text at this point.
The specification is not at the level it needs to be for a CSD ballot, in my opinion. I suggest we consider resolving a lot more of the content in question/comments in the google document before spending time on a CSD. I have not seen resolution of many of the issues to my comments alone far less anyone elses comments. So
therefore in all honesty I couldn’t say I would vote yes for this document as a CSD 1.0.
