OpenC2 received a lot of attention at the Integrated Cyber Spring 2018 event May 1-2, including:
- Efrain Ortiz showed off his web-based OpenC2 command generator to the general session
- Joe Brule presented on the state and plans for OpenC2 in a well-attended breakout
- Dan
Riedel's presentation on Indicator Remediation Language included
discussion of application of OpenC2 to energy system use cases
- An IACD team presentation examining reversibility of automated workflows used OpenC2 as the framework for their analysis
- Sounil Yu represented the financial sector for ‘The Future of Orchestration’ panel. OpenC2 was referenced by multiple times panelists and there was general agreement that standards such as OpenC2 are required to enable integrated cyber defenses. Sounil Yu emphasized the need for standards such as OpenC2 to enable the commoditization of cyber defenses and that OpenC2 is a means for the vendors to communicate what their products provide in an unambiguous way.
Work on the Stateless
Packet Filter actuator profile continues; the editors have set a goal
to be ready to launch an eballot for approval as a CSD by the 16 May TC
meeting.
