Subject: 8/24 Working Meeting Report
The briefing outline for each item can be found in the meeting agenda: https://meet.lucidmeetings.com/meeting/317805
Dave Lemire chairing as both Michael Rosa and Duncan Sparrell are in Geneva for ITU-T meetings. Overview: â No PRs for Agreement â Six PRs for Discussion (see below) â No other discussions â LS PR #404: Rename Actuator field to Profile (Dave Kemp (DK) presenting) â DK: simple conceptual change, lots of edits â resolve historical confusion between actuator and profile, hence what spec should describe and what commands
should contain; â this is a breaking change; new LS will be v2.0 DK walked through the changes in the PR (https://github.com/oasis-tcs/openc2-oc2ls/pull/404/files)
â have separated definitions of Actuator & AP â Actuator is defined as consumer â AP is defined a document -- DaveL will propose language to focus on the function and what's needed for the schema (actions, targets, ...), with the document being secondary â DaveK will add a definition for âActuator Profile Identifierâ to the Glossary â Command syntax name makes this a breaking change â want to make breaking changes sooner than later â DK reviews changes in file changes â Patrick Maroney asked about removal of MUST on lines 869-870 â DK: could retain, but is inherent in the way the property tables / schema works, so seem superfluous â Profiles no longer have Specifiers; they were being misused to identify a Consumer â 3.3.1.3: points to the registry file in the Architecture Spec repo, but the LS list is normative;
aligns with Duncan's preference to update the LS to add new profiles when published Remaining Language Spec PRs (Dave Lemire presenting) â LS PR #399: Addresses "need to split table in 3.4.2.1" â LS PR #401: Remove Properties target â DK: definitely a breaking change, albeit w/o much practical impact; could have postponed w/o
other breaking changes â LS PR #402: address RR=None plus Consumer error â LS PR #403: refine Version data type format â Dave Kemp: will add a syntax to that so it's not just a Usage Requirement, to formalize â LR PR #405: Explain Use Of External registries â change from mime_type to media_type is also a breaking change Dave __________________ |
