Subject: Draft minutes - September 17

>
> Agenda:
> 1. Call to order
> - Verify Minute Taker
> - Roll Call
> - Approve minutes from prior meeting

no objections on minutes from previous meeting

>
> 2. Status Report and Discussion on Use Cases
> - Use Cases Document

First draft was sent by Mani to the list prior to meeting. Mani went
over the structure and generalities of the document:
- template from Oasis specification, marked as working draft. Q to
Oasis veterans: is the interpretation of the template OK? A: yes
- added uses cases to TOC (used Tatsuki's document as reference)
- text in the introduction is new
- text in the overview is from charter
- terminology is from wiki (as-is)
- non-normative references include Giles' ENISA report
- this first pass is mainly to agree on the document organization,
flow, etc. before filling in details

=> Please give feedback to Mani, especially regarding the following
points:
- is this the right level of detail?
- new text in the introduction
- terminology (which has incomplete parts)
- is it worth discussing security considerations in the use cases
document?

Discussion:
Tony: do we consider use cases document to be a non-normative
document? (i.e. informational document)
Dorothy: how does this work in Oasis? since use cases are driving the
work they should delimit the scope
Mani: another point - use cases document currently doesn't include
requirements
=> There wasn't a conclusion about the classification of use cases
document

Mani: reference model section in use cases document is needed because
it introduces the terminology for the use cases.
Tony: Daniela submitted a model in the F2F
Daniela: this was intended to be a starting point, needs discussion
among the group and include some of Giles' ideas
=> Agreement to use this model as a starting point. The group should
"take it apart".

Dorothy: concerns about some terms poorly defined (e.g. defining space)
Daniela: agree
=> group needs to refine terminology

In a second pass we need to go through use cases and make sure they
are uniform (e.g. specific technologies vs. general cases)
Mani requests use case description, schematics and other feedback over
e-mail (to him or the list)

Discussion of Giles' draft presentation for Oasis symposium in London:
- need to mention some of the other use cases
- description of ORMS is missing one of the key goals, i.e. definition
of a portable reputation format
=> send comments to Giles (or post to list) ASAP so the presentation
can be updated on time (date of presentation is October 1)

Meeting schedule discussion:
Mani: are we going to continue every 2 weeks?
John: seems good to keep current schedule and try to make progress on
the use cases document

F2F discussion:
- F2F will take place as part of IIW, Oasis is a sponsor so they've
gotten us a room. IIW is in the week of November 10, ORMS F2F exact
date hasn 't been decided. Concerns about possible collision with XRI
F2F, which will also take place in conjunction with IIW.
John suggests using first day of IIW, as IIW only starts in the
afternoon; people would need to get there earlier but that doesn't
seem to be a problem. John will check with Dee availability of rooms
on Monday, November 10.

Action items:
-----------------
- everybody: send feedback to Mani regarding organization of use cases
document and answers to specific questions (see above)
- use case owners: send detailed text and figures to Mani
- everybody: send feedback to Giles regarding his presentation as soon
as possible
- John: confirm with Dee November 10th for ORMS F2F
