Subject: Proposed Minute on the ORMS TC call 2-3PM PST 2009-09-02
Following are the minutes of the official telecon of the ORMS TC at: Date: Wednesday, 2 Sept. 2009 UTC Time: 21:00-22:00 UTC (14:00-15:00PST, 17:00-18:00EST, 6:00-7:00JST) ATTENDING Henrik Biering Mani Mahalingam Nat Sakimura Tatsuki Sakushima Quorum was achieved. 1. NEXT STEPS Per Tatsuki's proposal: http://www.oasis-open.org/apps/org/workgroup/orms/email/archives/200909/msg00000.html We discussed how we should proceed having collected use cases and requirements. There was a consensus on the call that it would be good to start working on the straw-man. Mani and Tatsuki volunteered for being the editors. Mani and Tatsuki, since both are in Bay Area, are to meet F2F to strategize and create the first straw-man draft of ORMS spec. 2. FACE2FACE PLANNING Quick poll among the attending members for the following conferences were taken. (1) DIDW at Las Vegas (14-16 Sept) (2) OASIS Identity Management 2009 (29-30 Sept) (3) IIW IX (3-5 Nov) Among the three, it was only (3) IIW IX that all the people called in today are coming. Since there is an OpenID meeting on the Nov. 2 (planned), it does not look like an option to hold it on the 2nd. Unless we find the opening on the 2nd, we agreed to hold the F2F on the 5th morning. As the date gets closer by and the schedule for the 2nd gets more concrete, Nat is going to post the precise date and time as well as the location to the list. 3. OTHER BUSINESS 3.1 CHANGING THE CALL INFRASTRUCTURE Nat proposed to change the call infrastructure from FreeConference to Skype because of the international calling cost and superior sound quality. Henrik said that he would prefer being able to call with normal IP phone, and Nat explained that current one that he is considering, HiDef Conferencing, has normal telephone number to accept such, we agreed to switch to Skype. Nat is going to post the new access information on the list and the group calendar as soon as he gets it. 3.2 CALL TIMING The current call timing is that it is always very later in Europe and is very early in Japan. Nat proposed that perhaps alternating call timing would be better to accommodate more people. Although Henrik kindly said that he would be fine with 23:00 call timing as it is now, Nat is going to make a proposal and post it to the list. 4. NEXT CALL The next call will be in two weeks. Call details will be sent out from Nat. -- Nat Sakimura (=nat) http://www.sakimura.org/en/ http://twitter.com/_nat
