Subject: Re: [oslc-core] Resolution to be proposed at today's TC

Hi Martin - If I earlier said this would be ok, then I apologize in advance. I just double-checked back on the TC Process. The requirement is that a Statement of Use "must be made to a specific version of the Committee Specification and must include the Specification's approval date."

So while it is fine for the issuers of a SoU to update and resend their SoU to the TC by virtue of the version's compatibility, I can't allow the TC to approve a SoU for Version 2.0 as actually applying to Version 3.0. You'll need to get them updated and reissued before using them to advance OSLC Core V3.0 as a Candidate OASIS Standard.

Again, apologies if I caused confusion on this score. But the rule doesn't leave any room for interpretation here.

FYI the following resolution will be discussed and hopefully put to a vote during today’s meeting:

Whereas Core OSLC v3 is explicitly compatible with Core OSLC v2 with the exception of two optional features attachments and LDP mechanisms, and conformant to the "Statement of Use" clause in the OASIS process (https://www.oasis-open.org/policies-guidelines/tc-process#dStatementUse ) the committee proposes to accept existing implementations of Core OSLC v2 as acceptable statements of use.

Thanks,
