Hi –
I’ll have to re-create the 2 ballots related to Mike’s pkcs11-kdf-ecdh-v3.doc” document. My apologies to folks who have already voted.
As Mike notes, one of the motions in the 7-Aug meeting, in the discussion of a revision to the DSA mechanism proposal (that is, to the balloted proposal DSA mechanism that passed), was “Bob and Mike get together a proposal on
the sub-prime backwards compatibility issue" that the co-chairs create a two week ballot once that proposal has been circulated to the TC.”
This is in section VI-7-11 of minutes afor 7-Aug s posted by David.
Before I create the ballot, I’d ask that folks in the TC take a look at the proposal “DSA 186-4 updates” as posted by Bob Relyea on 22-Aug and post any issues/questions to the pkcs11@lists.oasis-open.org reflector. If no questions or issues or questions are posted by EOD 29-Aug, I’ll go ahead and create the ballot. If there are questions or issues, I’ll check with Bob and Mike on whether they want to revise the proposal to respond, before I create a ballot which we otherwise might just have to do again…
Regards,
Bob

I sent a private note to Bob with respect to the ECDH and KDF ballots, they need a bit of tweaking.
Unless I'm mistaken (comments solicited please), the DSA 186-4 submission should go to ballot immediately. It amends the previously accepted DSA 186-4 proposal and the discussion on that amendment happened the meeting before last (along with the agreement this would be balloted immediately upon submission).

Hi –
I’ve just finished creating all the ballots that were voted in our PKCS 11 TC call on Wednesday this week. In order to make sure that everyone has as much time as possible to consider the ballots, I didn’t send draft versions of these ballots (as I would usually) to the proposers/authors. So I’d ask those individuals, especially, to take a close look at the ballot text(s) and make sure they are accurate. I’d appreciate a note from you, confirming that there are no problems!
Meanwhile, folks should feel free to vote on the ballots as they stand (I think the likelihood of a serious error in the ballots is pretty small!)
I believe there are just 2 outstanding items for v2.40 that have not yet been balloted;
- Doron’s ECC Secure Key Import proposal.
- DSA 186-4 updates proposal posted by Bob Relyea yesterday
We will consider both these in our 4-Sept meeting.
Regards,
Bob
