Subject: FW: Consultant Cost
Good Morning, In our previous conference call, we discussed that maybe it's a good idea to come up a proposal to hire a contractor to revamp/update the PKI member section resource page as well as have this person write the 'gap' information on our behalf. I see the resource page falls under the responsibility of the Education SC because it includes Education Materials on PKI. I've asked John Sabo to provide me with some information regarding the contractor he hired 1.5 years ago and I've attached his response. I am in the middle of compiling our list and it will provide us with more info on the 'missing' documentation. The link below points to the existing resources. We also have to find a spot to publish our progress to date. http://www.pkiforum.org/resources.html Let me know your thoughts. 1) Do we need contractors? 2) How many hours a week would we need this person? 3) Will this be an ongoing contractor or only for a few months? 4) If it's only for a few months, what do we do for maintenance of the site? 5) Would the same contractor be writing documentation as well as revamping the site? thanks june June Leung Manager, PKI Department FundSERV Inc. 1730 130 King St W Toronto ON M5X 1E5 T. 416.350.2516 F. 416.362.6668 -----Original Message----- From: Sabo, John T [mailto:John.T.Sabo@ca.com] Sent: Wednesday, August 11, 2004 9:30 PM To: June Leung Subject: RE: Consultant Cost June, The contract cost was $5000, and was for 30-day effort, not to exceed 200 hours. As it turns out, this was a special arrangement with an expert individual who happened to be available and capable of performing the services at a heavily discounted hourly rate. My suspicion is that just for updating the site, however, we could probably get a more junior person who would work for this type of compensation. I'm inserting the service deliverables from the contract related to the Web site and resource maintenance (there were a few other deliverables for OASIS management not related to the resources page etc.). I can provide the contract boilerplate later if you want to see the whole thing, but this should give you what you need. Similar to what the LC TC is looking at. Can you give me an idea how much time the contractor spent on updating the site and the cost of it? ie - how much an hour? I would like to put something together and mail it to the TC on Monday. thanks june June Leung Manager, PKI Department FundSERV Inc. 1730 130 King St W Toronto ON M5X 1E5 T. 416.350.2516 F. 416.362.6668
