Subject: RE: Face-to-face meeting - Modellers Core team

I have another (potential) issue regarding templates & reference data.

1. For C001 the template asg_id hard codes the classification of the organization as "Owner_of" & is therefore, not an input parameter to asg_id and some would say that this is "hidden" from view. Of course it is defined in the template definition, but the question is - should such "hidden" reference data be listed in the model reference data section? My assumption is that the answer is yes.

[RBN] Yes – and I guess we should write an error check to make sure that it is listed. I will add to the "wish" list for infrastructure.

2. I think it may be easy to expand the scope of a capability beyond it's initial scope through the use of templates. e.g. C001 only has the entity identification_assignment in scope, but the template makes specific use of C016, C032 & C010. In this sense, the template is bigger in scope than the capability. Any entities used within a template must therefore, be declared as "dependent" in the capability. Do we have anything in place which double-checks the template entity usage with those declared as dependent in the capability? My assumption is that the answer is no.

[RBN]I don't think that the templates should "expand" the scope –  I agree that any entity used in the template should appear in the usage section. No – the check is not made. I will add to the "wish" list for infrastructure.
