Subject: RE: [plcs] Comments on the checklist
Rob, Good idea about recording the module versions too. That'll be useful after the ballot. Another question. Will this make it possible to retrieve a Dex as of a certain date/revision. For example, if I wanted to donwload a copy of Dex1 version 1.12 (published on 23rd January 2004); - is there an easy command that will do that for me? I may, for example, want to compare the development status across two dates or just look at what it looked like way back when.. The revision of both DEXs and capabilities is in the XML: rcs.revision="$Revision: 1.14 $" development.folder="dvlp" It is also displayed in the top frame of the Capability: Capability (C019): assigning_approvals - Assigning an Approval Issues <file:///D:\users\rbn\projects\sforge\dexlib\data\capabilities\assigning_app rovals\dvlp\issues.xml> issues[0/0] Date: 2004/05/12 09:24:22 Revision: 1.16 However, the revision is not displayed in the DEXs - not difficult to add It would also be easy to provide a summary page on the DEX displaying the revisions of the capabilities that have been used. It would also probably be useful to display the revisions of the modules used by the capabilities. I will add this to the list of DEX issues: dexlib/docs/issues/issues.xml Regards Rob ------------------------------------------- Rob Bodington Eurostep Limited Web Page: http://www.eurostep.com <http://www.eurostep.com> http://www.share-a-space.com <http://www.share-a-space.com> Email: Rob.Bodington@eurostep.com <mailto:Rob.Bodington@eurostep.com> Phone: +44 (0)1454 270030 Mobile: +44 (0)7796 176 401 Fax: +44 (0)1454 270031 -----Original Message----- From: Tim [mailto:timturner11@bellsouth.net] Sent: 08 June 2004 21:35 To: plcs@lists.oasis-open.org Subject: [plcs] Comments on the checklist Dear All, I have added some thoughts using the revision control in Word to the attached document for consideration. In addition to the checklist it seems apparant that the models are constantly moving & it is difficult to understand if the comments are still relevant by the time they are received. I think that we should at least record the version of the capability against which the comments were raised in addition to the date. I believe that we will have the same problem when it comes to reviewing at the Dex level. That is, which versions of the capabilities were part of the Dex on a specific date when the review was done? If this could be automated it would be useful - almost like an internal release system against which we could record comments.
