Leif has asked me to provide you with the meeting information. Please see below.

 

The joint DMEWG / OASIS PLCS TC meeting will start on Thursday after lunch, and end on Friday (7^th) at lunch time. 

 

Please let me know in advance if you are going to have lunch with us on Thursday, as I need to arrange the canteen access. I also need the following information, for our Security guys:

 

- Name

- Company

- Nationality

- ID card/Passport No.

- Days that you will attend

 

Meeting location:

 

I attach the maps to our facilities. The address is EADS-CASA/Airbus Defence & Space, Avenida de Aragon 404, 28022 Madrid.

 

I have reserved the meeting room GOMERA in the IM building. It’s the one to the left of the security building when you get to our facilities (marked 2 and in yellow in the second map). Ask security to call me on my mobile when you arrive, and I will pick you up.

 

 

 

BTW, public transportation within Madrid itself is very good, but for those of you that usually hire a car I must advise you that traffic jams are also quite good, and that in most of the city there are limitations on parking in the streets (you’ll need to park in a car park).

Our facilities are close to the airport, outside town, as you can see in the attached maps. I advise you to have a look at the addresses using Google Maps. Look through the whole list to see which one is more convenient for you.

All those hotels are close but unfortunately in the middle of nowhere, and communications to the center of Madrid are not very good.

 

 

In case you want to perform a trade-off between closeness to our facilities and good communications to the center of Madrid, I recommend the following two:

It’s 10 minutes by car/taxi from our facilities (you can also take a bus) and the subway to the city center is a 3 minute walk. It’s not the fanciest of the neighborhoods, but there are shops around, and other visitors spoke well of it. If some of you decide to go here, please let me know, I might be able to pick up some of you up on my way to work.

Slightly closer than the previous one, it is worse communicated, but a 10-minute walk away from one of the greatest shopping centers in Madrid.
