Subject: FW: UMA case studies that may be of interest to PMRM

Hi all,
As you see from the thread below, before the summer I had a lengthy dinner discussion in Seattle with Eve Maler, who some of you will know - she worked on the original XML standard as well as SAML and was very active in her work at SUN Microsystems and then PayPal on identity issues, particularly through Kantara, before her current work with Forrester.

She shares below links to a couple of use cases on User Managed Access, that we might want to take a look at for PMRM - maybe invite Eve to speak at a forthcoming meeting?

Cheers,
Peter

Hi Peter,

Hope you're doing well. When we got together a couple of months ago, you had encouraged me to share User-Managed Access use cases with the PMRM community to help inform its work. We've been working on a series of case studies, and have made some progress, so I thought now might be a good time to share the interim results. We're keeping the relevant collateral here:

http://kantarainitiative.org/confluence/display/uma/Case+Studies

Of note:

- Our "CV sharing" use case, where students can control the sharing of access to trustworthy sources of college transcript and other education data, now has an extensive case study available, with software that was demonstrated in a webinar we offered this past week. The case study is here: http://smartjisc.files.wordpress.com/2012/10/smart_hears_draft012.pdf The webinar slides are (and soon, the recording will be) linked from here: http://kantarainitiative.org/confluence/display/uma/Home

- Our "online personal loan data sharing" use case, where a personal applying for a loan can direct the loan application/officer to retrieve trustworthy financial data in a secure, private fashion, now has an extensive case study available at: http://kantarainitiative.org/confluence/download/attachments/62324760/UMA_Personal_Loan_v01.pdf

We've got other case studies being written right now, dealing with data sharing control in the patient-centric, EU-compliant, and parental areas, along with others.

Can you please share this along? If there's interest, I'd be happy to come speak with the group. Thanks!

	Eve
