I believe the new angle would be the ability to handle the scenario when one
provisioning request is optionally broken by the PSP to multiple separate
sub -requests and allow the RA to actually monitor each of the sub-request
separately. I guess the same thing can be used in conjunction for PSP
ability to interact with a PST. 
The only change that this would require is for the PSP (or PST) to return
multiple IDs instead of exactly one.

This is an interesting idea. It does not, however, provide any more
functionality than what is provided by batch requests, or multiple single
requests.

To me a more interesting approach would be to support this not by explicitly
identifying multiple targets by their identifiers, but implicitly
identifying multiple targets using a search query (i.e. search base and
filter). This approach would provide new functionality.
