Subject: New ebRS Section 8.2.2, RegistryEntryQuery
Regrep, During the past few weeks the "regrep-query" team has been discussing ways to enhance the Filter Query mechanism in Registry Servcies (cf ebRS Section 8.2) to accommodate revisions and enhancements in ebRIM, to combine Browse and Drill Down Query with Filter Query, and to accommodate classifications by external classification schemes. I volunteered to produce several proposed new sub-sections of ebRS Section 8.2, Filter Query. Attached are two short PDF documents: 1) Proposed new text for ebRS Section 8.2.2, RegistryEntryQuery 2) A UML sub-model of ebRIM used to influence the specification of RegistryEntryQuery. The UML sub-model is consistent with the UML model in ebRIM, but it is not intended to replace any of the diagrams in that specification. It simply exposes the class associations deemed important for RegistryEntryQuery. The RegistryEntryQuery specification assumes the addition of several new methods to the Classsification and ClassificationNode classes in ebRIM, especially a getPathDepth() method to calculate the depth of a node in the classification tree and a getPathElements() method to better expose the complete parentage of a classification node. If those methods are not added to ebRIM, then those elements in the query can simply be deleted. -- Len ************************************************************** Len Gallagher LGallagher@nist.gov NIST Work: 301-975-3251 Bldg 820 Room 562 Home: 301-424-1928 Gaithersburg, MD 20899-8970 USA Fax: 301-948-6213 **************************************************************
