Angel,
Unfortunately I will not be able to attend, as I will be at another
conference in Chicago at the same time. Would you like me to ask my TC
members if one of them would be able to participate, or do you prefer to
limit the panelists to the TC Chairs?

Subject: OASIS Forum on the Direction of Web Services
On Tuesday, March 04, 2003 OASIS will be sponsoring a Forum on the
Direction of Web Services during XML-Web Services One [1,2]. As a member of
the OASIS Technical Advisory Board and chair of the Web Services & the
e-Business Era session I would like to kindly invite you to participate
during this session. In particular, it would be great if you could attend
this session and one of you serve as a panelist. I am sure that there will
be many questions about how the OASIS ebXML work relates to web services.
You will be asked to give a brief presentation on your thoughts in this
area as well as how the work of your technical committee impacts businesses
and the IT infrastructure. For the remainder of the hour we will field
questions from the audience as we attempt to articulate the role OASIS
plays in web services and it’s impact on business.
We will have a panelist teleconference before the session to review our
positions and flow of the discussions.

Web Services are starting to dramatically change the way enterprises do
business. Over the next few years, enterprise adoption of Web Services will
continue to grow as internal usage ramps up and the industry standards
continue to emerge. This session will focus on the impact web services have
on business and IT infrastructure. Panelists will provide a broad overview
of the standards landscape and quickly focus in on what is needed to
facilitate the next era of e-business, such as registries, workflow,
management, and portals.
