The idea is that for each type of content one can submit a cataloging 
service to the ebXML registry. Each time content of that type is 
submitted the registry automatically invokes the cataloging service 
which in turn catalogs that content by mapping selective content into 
ebRIM metadata. A side effect of this is that clients can now discover 
content using ad hoc queries whose earch criterea is based upon the content.

The required parts of this are implemented in ebxmlrr Open Source ebXML 
Registry ( http://ebxmlrr.sourceforge.net ).
