FYI - the pilot that I have proposed under the Federal CIO Council on
"Web Services and Registries" has been approved. I will be the Pilot
Lead.

It would be great to have some use cases for this pilot generated
within/offered up from our TC. Please let me know if there is any
interest in doing so. The use cases would mainly focus on
interoperability between UDDI and ebXML Registry, with a secondary
emphasis on the capabilities of each separate registry type regarding
the registration, maintenance, and discovery of Web Services
descriptions.

Anne and/or Paul: Please also forward to the UDDI TC if you feel
appropriate. I would like to get both the UDDI TC and ebXML Registry TC
involved in generating use cases if possible.

At Tuesday's Working Group meeting, I presented my proposal for a pilot
titled "Web Services and Registries". I am very happy to announce that
the Working Group, Brand Niemann, has approved my proposal. I will be
the Pilot Lead.

The main objective of this pilot is: "to demonstrate the capability of
UDDI and ebXML registries to interoperate during Web Services–based
collaborations". The planned outcome is A pilot report detailing the
aproducts utilized, use cases executed, and methodologies used, that can
be circulated among various groups including:

- Federal CIO Council XML Web Services Working Group
- OASIS E-Government TC
- OASIS/ebXML Registry TC
- OASIS UDDI TC

Several vendors have already expressed interest in participating - I
gladly encourage as many other vendors as possible to participate as
well. The pilot requirements are outlined in the attached presentation
(given Tuesday), slide 18. I would also encourage as many other
individuals who would like to get involved in other capacities (use case
authors, use case executors, etc.) to do so as well.

Please let me know if you are interested in participating in any way. I
will give a report in 2 weeks detailing who has signed up, in what
capacity, etc.
