XML 2003

It has been suggested that we have a face-to-face meeting during the XML 2003 conference December 7-12 in Philadelphia, PA (http://www.xmlconference.org/xmlusa/).  In order to have a face-to-face meeting there are two primary criteria that must be met:

1. That we have work to do that requires a face-to-face.

2. That there are enough members present for a quorum in order to have a business meeting.

One issue that has come up in the past when face-to-face meetings have been held during conferences is the scheduling of the face-to-face meeting around the conference schedule.  Also the length of time required for a face-to-face meeting (8 hours, 2 days, etc.) may mean that members will have to decide whether to attend the face-to-face or the conference sessions for which they have paid.

I know that travel budgets are still tight for many companies and individuals.  I need to determine whether or not there will be enough members able to attend in order to have the meeting.  Please reply and let me know the following:

1. Are you planning to attend XML 2003?
2. If so, would you be able to attend a face-to-face meeting if it conflicted with sessions?
3. Would you be able to attend a face-to-face meeting if it occurred one day prior or one day after the XML 2003 conference?
4. If you are not planning to attend XML 2003, would you still be able to attend a face-to-face meeting in Philadelphia December 7-12?
5. What are some of the issues or action items that would need to be done in a face-to-face, in your opinion?
