Subject: RE: [regrep] Interest in Ontology Process Control Subcommittee

<Farrukh> It by design leaves vertical (industry specific) content
definition to other standards such as UBL etc. </Farrukh> If logic
systems imply content definitions, should the ebXML Registry be modified
to promote compliance with a single logic system like Description
Logics? Or, should the ebXML Registry require application developers to
figure out how best to utilize the intrinsic registry characteristics to
support their applications.

If the registry by design leaves vertical (industry specific) content
definition to other standards, why would it define a native
content/logic system? Doesn't that invalidate the principle of payload
neutrality?

Hi Zach,

ebXML is by design a horizontal standard that works across all
industries.
It by design leaves vertical (industry specific) content definition to
other standards
such as UBL etc.
