Subject: Re: [regrep] What is an ebXML Registry
David, With the exception of what they are trying to do over in ICG, Farrukh is right -- ebXML Registry is being used for everything but what the original ebXML vision called out. Most of us realized at some point that commercial viability is a very important part of what we were doing. I don't agree with staying on the old definition of registry -- it does not acurately represent reality. The original vision is merely a single use case of many. -Matt David Webber (XML) wrote: >Joe, > >Sorry - but you are wandering here IMHO! > >It's a bird, its a plane, its a hovercraft, and it >floats too. > >Bottom line is ebXML registry has become >very multi-faceted. > >If we're talking about the original ebXML >vision for the registry - that is much clearer. > >But today - it is being purposed widely. > >I think we need to be true to the original >focus, while admitting that people are >finding, and will continue to find cool and >interesting new applications. > >BTW - look at what UNCEFACT have >asked for - I think we see then the "pure" >focus on ebusiness information alignment. > >Cheers, DW > >----- Original Message ----- >From: "Chiusano Joseph" <chiusano_joseph@bah.com> >To: "Farrukh Najmi" <Farrukh.Najmi@Sun.COM>; <regrep@lists.oasis-open.org> >Sent: Sunday, March 20, 2005 9:38 PM >Subject: RE: [regrep] What is an ebXML Registry > > >I agree with the definition that Farrukh presents below.
