Subject: RE: Attribute defaults
Yes, honestly, simplicity is at the heart of the matter. AFAIK, we only have one element and one attribute in mind so far. If approved by the TC, the element will be a documentation element to provide a consistent way to document patterns, something beyond an XML 1.0 comment! And an attribute to annotate an element or attribute with a default value, because RELAX NG will not get into the business of augmenting the infoset and, if I understand James, we don't want have to code or force implementers to code complex restrictions on determinism (http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/relax-ng/200106/msg00213.html). That's all we have in mind at the moment, but perhaps other stuff will come up. -Mike -----Original Message----- From: Robin Cover [mailto:robin@isogen.com] Sent: Monday, June 25, 2001 3:11 PM To: Michael Fitzgerald Cc: RNG List Subject: RE: Attribute defaults Oh, heck, go for generality, but be honest: (reserved) <rnga:cheatMode> {all the crufty hazardous stuff too 'complex' for RELAX NG which needs to be modeled for some purposes, but which would potentially diminish bragging claims WRT RELAX NG's putative simplicity} </> ;-) -r ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- - On Mon, 25 Jun 2001, Michael Fitzgerald wrote: > I am happy to do this, if we think a spec is necessary.
