Subject: Re: Nits on 7.2
I like this way of looking at the restriction. I think we should use this to replace the two sentences: "More generally, if a pattern matches a sequence of length greater than one, then all strings in the sequence must match text patterns and not data or value patterns. However, a pattern occuring within a list pattern is not subject to this rule." I don't find "coexist" quite clear enough. We also need to deal with <list>. How about this? "In RELAX NG, strings can be matched by <data>, <value>, <list> and <text> patterns. If the pattern for the content of an element or attributes contains two patterns that match strings, then either both patterns must be <text/> or the patterns must be alternatives to each other, ie they must occur in different alternatives of some <choice> pattern. This rule does not apply to patterns occurring within a list pattern." ----- Original Message ----- From: "Murata Makoto" <mura034@attglobal.net> To: <relax-ng@lists.oasis-open.org> Sent: Thursday, August 09, 2001 8:29 PM Subject: Nits on 7.2 > It might be helpful to add "Intuitively speaking, a <data> or <value> pattern > cannot coexist with another <data> or <value> pattern or <text/> unless they occcur > in different alternatives of some <choice>." > > Cheers, > Makoto > > ------------------------------------------------------------------ > To unsubscribe from this elist send a message with the single word > "unsubscribe" in the body to: relax-ng-request@lists.oasis-open.org > > >
