Subject: [relax-ng] Re: suggested datatype library types

Maybe I'm just missing something, but I thought we are going to create some
commonly used datatypes which are missing from W3C XML Schema, such as
SQL timestamp.

But seems like many of us are thinking about creating a datatype library
similar to XML Schema. Now I wonder, what is the point of re-creating
datatypes which are in XML Schema datatypes?

To avoid any dependency to W3C XML Schema? To make it easy to develop
schema processors?

Or to fix problems in W3C XML Schema? If so, are those fixes significant
enough to justify creating a similar datatype again?
