SAML Attribute assertions question

Hi,

 

We have implemented the SAML 2.0 POST-POST binding for web SSO for one of our products. We would additionally like to request identity attributes via SAML attribute assertions. My questions are

·                     Is there a separate profile defined to enable this?

·                     Does SAML mandate any specific binding for attribute assertions?

·                     Can Authentication and Attribute assertions be made in the same request (so that the Sp does not have to make two network calls)?
