Subject: Future of Artifact usage

Someone within the usergroup of a SAML enabled application heard a rumour that the SAML HTTP Artifact Binding / Artifact resolution protocol would no longer be supported in the future of SAML.

Using Artifacts is the primary way for this application to handle SAML assertions.

In the next usergroup meeting, we have to respond to this rumour.

I have looked (googled) around, but have found no ground for this rumour so far.

But just to be sure, a question to the people who probably have the best insight into the possible future direction of SAML :

Is this a familiar rumour ?

Is there any possible truth in it ?

Met vriendelijke groet/With kind regards,

Drs. Peter J. Groeneveld CISSP
