Yes, i was hoping someone would be able to pull out something from the specifications so that our request to the IdP vendor for fixing the issue will have more credibility.

Yes, of course. I think you're hoping to use the SAML specification to
back your request but unfortunately there is nothing in the spec that
says an IdP has to support more than one endpoint per SP. At least I
can't find anything to that effect.
