New Issues

--none--

Existing Issues

ASSEMBLY-44 Allow multiple definitions.xml files http://www.osoa.org/jira/browse/ASSEMBLY-44

Anish discusses the proposal contained in JIRA

Edwards reminded the TC that at the end of the last call there was a motion that dies due to lack of time to accept the proposal in JIRA and invites a fresh motion
Motion: m:Rowley s:Patil resolve Assembly-44 with the text in the JIRA replacing the offending text in the description with the proposed text in the proposal
Amendment: m:Karmarkar s:Rowley The domain-wide visibility of definitions makes it possible that QNames used by a contribution can be used to identify constructs in the definitions file of a different contribution

Amendment is agreed w/o
Motion: [1]as amended: m:Rowley s:Patil resolve Assembly-44 with the text in the JIRA replacing the offending text in the description with the proposed text in the proposal with the following appended: The domain-wide visibility of definitions makes it possible that QNames used by a contribution can be used to identify constructs in the definitions file of a different contribution
Resolution: Resolve Assembly-44 with the motion at [1] w/o

ASSEMBLY-41 Conflicting domain-level deployments http://www.osoa.org/jira/browse/ASSEMBLY-41

Rowley discussed his proposal contained in the JIRA
<Sanjay>
<Mike Edwards>
Motion: m:Rowley s:Aupperle Later wire deployments MAY override existing wire deployments for 0..1 or 1..1 references at the domain level.
Amendment: m:Nash s:Aupperle s/wire/wiring/g
<Sanjay>
what is the difference - wire or wiring?
<Sanjay>
wire sounds like a thing that can be deployed.

amendment withdrawn by Nash
Motion: m:Rowley s:Nash replace the prior motion with the following: An SCA runtime MAY allow later wire deployments to override existing wiring for 0..1 or 1..1 references at the domain level.

motion to replace agreed w/o
Amendment: m:Karmarkar s:Chapman If an SCA runtime does not allow overrides to existing wiring for references, it MUST generate an error on such overriding deployments
<fred>
how about "that" or "a particular" SCA runtime
<Martin C>
my concern is if a runtime is selective how do you know?
<Michael Rowley>
I liked Simon's suggestion that we change "does not allow overrides" to "does not allow an override".

Issue held over due to lack of time, the chair encourages robust discussion on the email list.
<anish>
i'm fine with simon's suggestion too
<fred>
because you get an error that's specific -- "disallowed because transactions in progress..." or whatever.
