Subject: [NEW ISSUE] Need for a Callback annotation for WSDL interface files

Target:
SCA Assembly Specification
Description:
(Arose from discussions in the Bindings
TC)
It is noted that for a service with
a callback, if it is defined using a Java interface, there is a @Callback
annotation which
allows the fact that the forward service
interface has a related callback interface to be captured in the definition
of the interface.
However, if the interface is defined
using a WSDL interface, there is no equivalent function.
It would be very useful if it were possible
to annotate a WSDL interface in such a way that the forward interface could
be
annotated with a pointer indicating
that there is a callback interface and pointing at that interface.
Proposal:
(General direction)
Since WSDL is extensible, use that extensibility
to annotate a WSDL 1.1 portType, either via an new attribute or via a
new child element, which is labelled
"callback" and which has a value that is the QName of a second
portType which
declares the callback interface.
Yours, Mike.
