Subject: Re: [sca-assembly] [ISSUE 34] Define error handling - Proposal

One bug I found was this:
Line 3661 was changed to reported but shouldn't have been.

Suggestions on the new Chap 13.

Lines 4089-4092: I think we should simply and just say:

The SCA runtime SHOULD report the error to the process that is performing the deployment (eg write a message to an interactive console or write a message to a log file).

Lines 4096-4097: Delete the last sentence.

Line 4110-4113: Reword

When and error is detected at runtime, a fault MUST be reported to the component that caused the error to occur, eg if a component invokes an operation on a reference, but the target service is unavailable, a "ServiceUnavailable" fault is reported to the component.

[sca-assembly] [ISSUE 34] Define error handling - Proposal

Folks,

Here is a Proposal for the resolution of Issue 34.

- Add a new section before the current "13 Conformance" section, called "13 SCA Runtime Considerations"
- Use consistent wording for the handling of error situations - "report an error"
the CD02 version of the spec uses "raise" 7 times and "generate" 10 times in relation to errors
all changed to "report" or "reported"

Attached is a marked up version of the CD02 spec document with the proposed changes:
