Subject: [sca-bpel] NEW ISSUE: Incorrect uses of RFC 2119 'MAY' in SBPEL3013
Title: Incorrect uses of RFC 2119 'MAY' in SBPEL3013
Target: SCA BPEL spec
Description:
The RFC 2119 guideline for using the word 'MAY' is:
This word, or the adjective "OPTIONAL", mean that an item is
truly optional. One vendor may choose to include the item because a
particular marketplace requires it or because the vendor feels that
it enhances the product while another vendor may omit the same item.SBPEL3013 reads as: A WS-BPEL process definition MAY override the default mapping of partner links to services or references as described in section 2.1 by explicitly marking the partner link with an SCA attribute that describes the service or reference.
The word 'MAY' in this statement is intended to point out a feature that is available for users of the products implementing the specification and is not intended to point out the optionality from a vendor implementation point of view.
Proposal:
Change SBPEL3013 to read as:
A WS-BPEL process definition can override the default mapping of partner links to services or references as described in section 2.1 by explicitly marking the partner link with an SCA attribute that describes the service or reference.
