Subject: [sca-bpel] [NEW ISSUE] Conformance statement SBPEL3021 is
inappropriate and unnecessary
Raiser:
Mike Edwards
Target:
sca-bpel-1.1-spec-cd02.pdf
Description:
Normative
statement SBPEL3021 reads:
[SBPEL3021] An
SCA extension attribute sca-bpel:requires MAY be used to declare required
policy intents on a partner link.
First, the MAY
is invalid, since it is required that an SCA runtime supports the
sca-bpel:requires attribute. The MAY here actually
is talking
about the option that a BPEL process writer has to express policy intents using
that attribute.
Second, the
mandatory conformance aspects of the sca-bpel:requires attribute are defined in
SBPEL3022 and SBPEL3023,
making
SBPEL3021 redundant.
Proposal:
Remove the
normative statement SBPEL3021 and the following sentences in the same paragraph
and replace it with the following text:
---------------------
The
sca-bpel:requires attribute on a partnerLink is available for BPEL process
designers to associate SCA abstract policy intents
with a
partnerLink element. Policy intents specified on a partnerLink element
using the sca-bpel:requires attribute become part
of the
componentType of the BPEL process, appearing as the content of a @requires
attribute on either a <service/> or a
<reference/>
element in the componentType, depending on whether the partnerLink is used as a
service or as a reference.
The form of the
sca-bpel:requires attribute is as follows:
---------------------
This proposal
also means the removal of the corresponding Test Assertion from the
TestAssertions document for BPEL.
