Subject: Re: [sca-policy] Revised SCA Policy TA Document - comments
Hi Ashok, Thanks for taking a pass over this. I'll start with comments on your spec comments: (a) POL40013 and POL40026 were deleted by the resolution to issue 93 (the application of issue 93 was in cd02 rev8). The replacement text is the new text and conformance statements in section 4.14. (b) POL40018 and POL40029 overlap. Yes, I see your point. I agree there is some overlap but the context for those two statements is slightly different. Since the stmts don't contradict each other, I'm inclined to leave the spec alone. (c) POL40034 and POL40028 overlap. Both were added by the resolution to issue 93, and both appear very close together in the spec (separated by only two paragraphs in the same section). I think we could simply delete POL40028. And here's my comments on the TA document updates: (a)I found a WD06 on my harddrive that I apparently never posted to the list. Fortunately it only has one change in it. POL-TA-30026 predicate was changed to "The qualifier is used as the default qualifier". Can I fold it in? I don't remember why I made that change but I still like it better than what TA-30026 says today. (b) TA-40041 (related to POL40028 - see above) (c) For TA-40042 -> TA-40045 - Domain doesn't bother me so much for the target, but I think we need to work on the prerequisites by spelling out a case where redeployment fails (e.g. an intent used by a deployed app is deleted). It helps to think about what the test case might look like. We'll also have to decide how granular to get. If you look at POL40030, it lists 3 things that might fail deployment, same for other stmts in that section. (d) POL-TA-90033 needs to mention operations, not just service or reference (e) POL-TA-90034 - look at TA POL-TA-90020 as a good example of how to write TA-90034. The files are checked in at: http://www.oasis-open.org/committees/download.php/37314/SCA-Policy-1.1-Test-Assertions-WD-06.pdf http://www.oasis-open.org/committees/download.php/37313/SCA-Policy-1.1-Test-Assertions-WD-06.doc This needs more work but let's discuss on Monday. I found a couple of potential changes to the Framework spec. We need to discuss these before we approve CD03 Chapter 4 A couple of paragraphs that contain conformance statements 40013 and 40026 seem to have fallen out of the spec. These need to be restored. See below for dropped paras. Eight new conformance statements were added to Chapter 4. These are numbered 40028 to 40035. Of these, 40029 seems to duplicate 40018, so I did not add a TA for it. 40034 seems to duplicate 40028 but may be a bit different. I did add a TA for this but I'm happy to remove it. 40031 and 40033 are MAYs, so I did not add TAs for them. For the remaining 5 statements I added TAs 40041 thru 40045. In some cases, I cited "Domain" as the target. Does that seem right? Chapter 9 There are 3 new conformance statements in Chapter 9 -- 90029, 90030 and 90031 I added TAs for them. ================= Paragraphs dropped from Section 4.6 External Attachment of policySets ========= During the deployment of SCA composites, all policySets within the Domain with an attachTo attribute MUST be evaluated to determine which policySets are attached to the newly deployed composite. [POL40013 <#POL40013>] During the deployment of an SCA policySet, the behavior of an SCA runtime MUST take ONE of the following forms: · The policySet is immediately attached to all deployed composites which satisfy the @attachTo attribute of the policySet. · The policySet is attached to a deployed composite which satisfies the @attachTo attribute of the policySet when the composite is re-deployed.
