Agreed. My intent is not to say that plug-in code is required. What I really want to validate is the decisions in the diagrams - the things the SDD author needs to know when creating a constraint.

These appear right to me, although I wouldn't necessarily say that "provide plug-in code" is required; I think other alternatives exist if the hosting environment is unable to determine if a particular app is installed.
