Subject: Re: [search-ws] Use Case - Enterprise Mashups
I'm interested in members' thoughts about the inter-enterprise mashup use case suggested by Sophie Lee. Can we elaborate? Say there are two components A and B. Is the use case simply A querying B (and vice versa)? Or are we talking about a third-party application that wants to query the aggregated data? Or an application that wants to query both A and B and aggregate the data itself. --Ray ----- Original Message ----- From: "Sophie Lee2" <sophie.lee@de.ibm.com> To: <search-ws@lists.oasis-open.org> Sent: Tuesday, September 18, 2007 6:09 AM Subject: [search-ws] Use Case - Enterprise Mashups Hello, not coming from a library, I don't have something related to Holdings... but as mentioned on the call, one of the things I'm trying to figure out is what the best mechanism for allowing various components to interact with each other is. Use case: Inter-Enterprise Mashup. ---------------------------------- The idea is to send a query from one Mashup component to another. These components belong to different application groups and sit on different servers with different databases behind them. The exchanged information, of course, should be confidential, and transferred across an SSL layer... however, (and maybe I'm just unknowledgeable here), your average web browser has a problem building two secure connections on a page where the applications are called to load by a javascript component. Just a little thought -- and most likely one that will become more important, given the movement to bring Web 2.0 technologies into business operations to provide a more seamless, integrated user experience.
