Subject: Mike Taylor Discovers A New Dinosaur Family!!
For those of you who missed this in Wired: Computer programmer Mike Taylor was
poking around the vaults of Taylor, who's doing
his PhD work on sauropod spines, thought the bone looked unique. He was right:
it belonged to brand-new species, dubbed Xenoposeidon proneukus and described in the journal Paleontology. And not only is Xenoposeidon,
which lived 140 million years ago and grew to the size of an elephant, a new species:
it could belong to a whole new sauropod family. Link to complete
