Minutes added. -- Ray Denenberg SWS TC Call has been modified by Ray Denenberg Date: Monday, 15 March 2010 Time: 09:30am - 10:30am ET Event Description: US: 1-866-699-3239 Australia toll free 1-800-671909; Australia Toll +61 (0)2 82239752 Netherlands toll +31 (0(20 2008070; Netherlands toll free 0800-0220938 UK: 0800-028-8339 Participant codes: Speak and listen - 20116243 Listen only - 20146009 Agenda: (1) Nicks SRU comments http://www.oasis-open.org/apps/org/workgroup/search-ws/email/archives/201003/msg00000.html (2) Nick's CQL comments http://www.oasis-open.org/apps/org/workgroup/search-ws/email/archives/201003/msg00006.html For reference Nick's comments apply to these: http://www.oasis-open.org/apps/org/workgroup/search-ws/download.php/36264/sru-2-0-feb-4-10.doc http://www.oasis-open.org/apps/org/workgroup/search-ws/download.php/36263/cql-2-0-draft-feb-4-2010.doc The two current versions of SRU and CQL are: http://www.oasis-open.org/committees/download.php/36810/sru-2-0-march-4-10.doc http://www.oasis-open.org/committees/download.php/36811/cql-2-0-draft-march-4-2010.doc (3) resultSetTTL and resultSetIdleTime (4) Explain Schema http://www.oasis-open.org/committees/download.php/36593/zeerex-new.xsd Minutes: Present: Ralph, Larry, Tony, Nick, Jan, Ray. Quorum. Line references in the notes below refer to the February 4 versions, though the most-current versions are March 4. SRU Draft. - 317. Change "type of query" to "query language". (Thus "searchTerms" is implicitly a query language. However there isn't any change necessary to reflect this.) -515, the issue of subqueries. After some discussion we decided that Ralph is going to rewrite this section. The example is too specific to CQL, and perhaps it could go in the CQL spec. Raplh will come up with something more general. -583, default sort schema. recordSchema will be the default sort schema. -881 initially the issue raised was whether the spec is responsible for saying where the scan endpoint is, but the discussion generalized to endpoints and operations in general. The question is whether the operation parameter needs to go back into the spec (we've taken it out, as of now). The rough conclusion seems to be that the operation parameter does not need to go back into SRU, however it probably should be included in other operations, scan for example, as optional. The current guidance (section 14) says" For version 2.0, multiple operations (e.g. searchRetrieve and Scan) might have the same endpoint, and the server may be able to heuristically determine the operation for a request from the combination of parameters. However, as new operations or new versions of existing operations are defined, that may no longer be possible." However the spec is silent on whether scan may have an operation parameter. So this section needs some rewriting. CQL Draft. - 667 container = field .... "field is an index name". Need to rewrite this so that a container is not represented as an indexe but rather as an object that has a structure. These structures will have to be explained by Explain. - 1135 Bibliographic search examples. These (Annex F) will be merged with Annex E, Bib Context Set. The reason they were separate is that Annex E was previously a normative annex. Recently however we decided to downgrade it to a non-normative annex, and so there is no reason why the examples need to be in a separate annex. However it would not be possible to merge these examples section-wise - e.g. the title examples into the title section - because the examples are complex and include modifiers that would not have been introduced yet. So all the examples will be put into the Bib Context Set annex in a separate section at the end. Explain. Next call. We ran out of time and will need to discuss several matters, including scheduling next call, via email. This event is one in a list of recurring events.
