Subject: Groups - SWS Conference Call modified
minutes added -- Ray Denenberg SWS Conference Call has been modified by Ray Denenberg Date: Monday, 10 January 2011 Time: 09:30am - 10:30am ET Event Description: US: 1-866-699-3239 Australia toll free 1-800-671909; Australia Toll +61 (0)2 82239752 Netherlands toll +31 (0(20 2008070; Netherlands toll free 0800-0220938 UK: 0800-028-8339 Participant codes: Speak and listen - 20116243 Listen only - 20146009 Agenda: See http://www.oasis-open.org/apps/org/workgroup/search-ws/email/archives/201101/msg00016.html Minutes: Attendees: Larry, Janifer, Tony, Ralph, Matthew, Ray 1. Cql-form The class of query types characterized by what we have been calling the cql-form query type is where the query type definition specifies one or more request parameters, and the query is presented by these parameters, which are not defined by the SRU protocol (except for the special case where a query type specifies the parameter 'query', which remains an SRU parameter. There has been a great deal of email discussion of this for several weeks. It began as discussion of a way to support a form-based cql query, cql-form, and it has since been generalized as described in the preceding paragraph. So the SRU protocol will accommodate these types of queries in general, and cql will describe the cql-form query. Ray will amend SRU and Tony will write the cql annex. There is discussion of how preprocessing fits in this model. For a cql-form query, the server may need to assemble the query from the individual parameters into a cql query. However for other types of parameter-based queries this sort of assembly is not required. So there will not need to be any explicit change to the protocol model to accommodate the cql-form query, but there will be some discussion of this in the cql document, perhaps some implementer guidance. 2. Facet Limit parameter The facet limit parameter syntax has been changed, as had been discussed. But this introduces a new problem, with colons and commas now part of the syntax, both of which are legal in index names. This needs to be documented, a cautionary note that index names that include commas or colons should not be used in the facet limit parameter. 3. Diagnostics All agree that there is no problem that needs to be solved. 4. Scan No discussion 5. Explain Janifer will work further on the December 8 document, and collaborate with Ralph. 6. Opensearch Tony will have a new draft by next week. Next call: January 31. Happy Birthday from all of us to Janifer! This event is one in a list of recurring events.
