SAML Adoption Subcommittee
 
The primary purpose of the OASIS SAML Adoption 
subcommittee is to promote the adoption of the SAML
standard within large organizations. The SAML Adoption
subcommittee will achieve this by recommending and
executing on a marketing plan and coordinating efforts
with the SAML SSTC. Initially the SAML Adoption
subcommittee will promote the work of the SAML Specification release(s) and will align with ongoing SAML technical efforts post release of the SAML Specification(s).
 
The scope of the OASIS SAML Adoption Subcommittee is to 
create and coordinate member communications and outbound
communications. The Adoption Subcommittee shall supervise press and analyst relations such as briefings, releases, and announcements to promote the adoption of SAML for identity federation. It shall manage communications to OASIS SAML members and end-users and recruit new members through the OASIS SAML website, collateral, newsletters, and webinars. To promote SAML positioning and the value proposition, the Adoption Subcommittee shall update existing white papers, FAQs, overview documents and user scenarios as well as create new materials as needed. The Adoption Subcommittee will also establish relationships with other organizations concerned with federated identity to ensure inclusion of SAML when appropriate. This Subcommittee will also assist in coordinating the promotional efforts of member companies relating to SAML.

1.    .White papers and/or presentations on issued SAML Specifications (SAML 1.1 & 2.0)
· Implementation experiences and customer use cases
· Understanding SAML technical capabilities
· Understanding relevance of SAML standard for business people (e.g. non-technical personnel)
· Relation of SAML to other Security Standards such as WS-Security etc.
· Provide
 marketing support for SAML interoperability events 
2.  PR plan, within three months

   · Press kit
   · Media Database
   · Editorial calendar to track and pursue upcoming articles on a routine basis

We anticipate the work of the OASIS SAML Adoption subcommittee will be used by a number of groups to learn more about
 SAML:
   · End users
   · Technology Product Vendors
   · Technology Service Vendors
   · Potential members
   · Media and industry analysts
   · Other complementary standards groups
   · OASIS organization
 
The subcommittee will conduct its business in English.
 
Initial subcommittee chairperson will be Merritt Maxim of CA.
