New Technical Overview draft

Yes, I know, we held onto this way too long...  I hope people will 
review this closely.  Rob did a significant reordering and rewrite 
of some sections, and I really think it's coming together.

In order not to delay things further, we left things in a bit of an 
obviously unfinished state in many places, but maybe the embedded 
questions will spur you to provide your thoughts.

Nearly all the graphics have been revised to clean up some 
typos/inaccuracies and to try to balance detail and "gestalt" a bit 
better.  I'd be grateful for a very close reading of these.  To do 
this, you should use the PDF version, as you'll see a weird text 
clipping problem (not lossy) in the source version.  I should have a 
fix by rev 10.

That said, Jim Lien has provided some great comments/thoughts that 
you can only see in the OpenOffice form.

I can probably turn around a rev 10 in the August 7 timeframe if I 
get juicy enough comments.
