Subject: RE: SOA Harmonization for approval
Duane,
I agree with Chris. This cross pollination between the standards
bodies in defining a common terminology and understanding serves the industry in
numerous ways. Thank you for all the efforts. I will pass this along to the appropriate
stakeholders as well.

Duane,
Just looked through it. Though I didn’t get time to
fully digest, I wanted to let you know that it looks really good. As soon
as ok to publish, I will forward to a number of folks in various organizations.

OASIS:
Attached is the final draft of a paper which is the joint work of the OASIS SOA
RM Technical Committee, the OMG and The Open Group. We plan to publish
this paper via several outlets to help clarify and explain the multitude of
standards within the SOA space and how they fit together. This paper took
6 months of hard work by several devoted individuals and is for the benefit of
those seeking to understand the issues.
If there are any official steps this document has to go through before being
published or any footnotes, please let me know now, otherwise we will publish
it as is by the end of this week. It is considered to be non-normative
and for illustration purposes. It does not in any way constrain any of
the relevant specifications.
Best wishes
Duane

Subject: SOA Harmonization for approval
Hi
Thanks to a lot of hard work and compromise by a lot of people we have a SOA
Harmonization White Paper ready for review and approval by our respective work
groups, organizations, and companies.
Please start the review and approval processes with this draft.
Send comments and questions to the soa-harmony@opengroup.org
list. We'll schedule follow on meetings as we get questions and
comments.
We are hoping for approval by July 8, which would give us some time to get the
paper posted on our respective organization's sites.
As a reminder, we need to focus on getting a specification insert completed
next.
Thanks again,
Heather Kreger
