Subject: public review of SPML v1 committee spec

In late 2001, the OASIS Provisioning Services Technical Committee (PSTC)
was formed to define an XML-based framework for exchanging user,
resource, and service provisioning information. The resulting
specification defines the concepts, operations deployment and XML schema
for an XML based request and response protocol for provisioning. This
specification consists of three documents as follows:

   * cs-pstc-spml-core-1.0.pdf – Core specification document; contains
both normative and non-normative description of the 1.0 specification
   * cs-pstc-spml-bindings-1.0.pdf – Bindings document; contains
normative description of SOAP/HTTP & file based transport bindings
   * cs-pstc-spml-schema-1.0.xsd – XML Schema; contains the definition of
message and protocol formats for SPML V1.0

These three documents together form the SPML V1.0 specification and are
available at

http://www.oasis-open.org/committees/download.php/2395/cs-pstc-spml-core-1.0.pdf
http://www.oasis-open.org/committees/download.php/2394/cs-pstc-spml-bindings-1.0.pdf
http://www.oasis-open.org/committees/download.php/2396/cs-pstc-spml-schema-1.0.xsd

The SPML TC voted on 1 June to advance this specification to Commmittee
Specification status, and to begin a public review of the specification.

Following OASIS guidelines the review period must extend to at least 30
days; for this specification set this period begins 5 June, 2003 and
closes 5 July, 2003. Members of OASIS and the general public are
encouraged to review the candidate specification and send their comments
to one of the following SSTC mailing lists.

OASIS PSTC members should send their comments to the mail list at
provision@lists.oasis-open.org

NOTE: Only subscribers may post to the TC list. However, any OASIS
member may subscribe to the list. To subscribe, please join the OASIS TC
as an Observer as described on the page at
http://www.oasis-open.org/committees/join.php

The general public ("reviewers at-large") should send comments to
provision-comment@lists.oasis-open.org

NOTE: Before sending messages to the comment list, YOU MUST FIRST
SUBSCRIBE. Go to http://lists.oasis-open.org/ob/adm.pl to subscribe to
this list.

Archives of both the lists are available at:

http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/

The TC will record the comments received as well as the resolution of
those comments. The TC may conduct any number of additional review
cycles (i.e. collecting comments, making edits to the specification,
sending out a revised version for review again, etc.) before deciding
that the review is complete. After the conclusion of the review and
final changes to the document, the TC must re-approve the work as a
Committee Specification before submitting it to OASIS for consideration
as an OASIS Standard.
