Subject: Public Review of Universal Business Language (UBL) 2.0 Naming and Design Rules - 15 day review

To OASIS members, Public Announce Lists:

The OASIS Universal Business Language (UBL) TC has recently approved the following specification as a Committee Draft and approved the package for public review:

Universal Business Language (UBL) 2.0 Naming and Design Rules

The public review starts today, 16 November 2009, and ends 1 December 2009. This specification was previously submitted for a 60-day public review on 13 September 2006[1].

This is an open invitation to comment. We strongly encourage feedback from potential users, developers and others, whether OASIS members or not, for the sake of improving the interoperability and quality of OASIS work. The Naming and Design Rules for UBL 2.0 are historically descriptive of the process used to generate the schemas for UBL 2.0 in 2006, and as such are not amenable to substantive revision. They are of interest mainly to groups outside of UBL that have found them useful in guiding their own work, and the slow process of revision that ended in last month's UBL TC meeting in Montreal has chiefly been concerned with improving the prose and the artwork as aids to understanding the document. Therefore, any substantive comments received during this second public review cycle will be treated as input to the naming and design rules for UBL 2.1 (currently in progress).

More non-normative information about the specification and the technical committee may be found at the public home page of the TC at:
http://www.oasis-open.org/committees/tc_home.php?wg_abbrev=ubl. Comments may be submitted to the TC by any person through the use of the OASIS TC Comment Facility which can be located via the button marked "Send A Comment" at the top of that page, or directly at:

Submitted comments (for this work as well as other works of that TC) are publicly archived and can be viewed at:
