Subject: Call to Vote: Ballot for OASIS Standard - Web Services Security V1.1.1
OASIS Members: The OASIS Web Services Security Maintenance (WSS-M) TC members [1] have approved submitting the following Candidate OASIS Standard to the OASIS membership to a membership vote for OASIS Standard: Web Services Security Version 1.1.1 Candidate OASIS Standard 01 15 December 2011 This is a call to the primary or alternate representatives of OASIS Organizational Members to vote. This Committee Specification was approved by the Technical Committee and was submitted for the required 60-day public review. All requirements of the OASIS TC Process having been met, the Candidate OASIS Standard is now submitted to the voting representatives of OASIS organizational members. -- Voting Details -- The ballot opens at 00:00 AM EST 4 May 2012 and closes at 11:59 PM EST 18 May 2012. You can access the ballot to cast your vote at: http://www.oasis-open.org/committees/ballot.php?id=2221 The minimum number of affirmative votes required to approve this ballot is 48 (15% of 320). Each OASIS organizational member has one vote. OASIS members should ensure that their organization's voting representative votes according to the organization's wishes. If you do not know the name of your organization's voting representative is, go to the My Account page at http://www.oasis-open.org/members/user_tools then click the link for your Company (at the top of the page) and review the list of users for the name designated as "Primary". -- Information about the Candidate OASIS Standard and the WSS-M TC -- Web Services Security Version 1.1.1 is a multi-part specification consisting of the following parts: - Web Services Security Kerberos Token Profile - Web Services Security Rights Expression Language (REL) Token Profile - Web Services Security SAML Token Profile - Web Services Security: SOAP Message Security Version - Web Services Security SOAP Message with Attachments (SwA) Profile - Web Services Security Username Token Profile - Web Services Security X.509 Certificate Token Profile Version The specification was approved as a Candidate OASIS Standard on 15 December 2011. Statements of use were received from Microsoft Corporation, TIBCO Software Inc., Oracle Corporation and IBM Corporation [2]. The purpose of the TC's work is to perform ongoing maintenance on the OASIS Standards of Web Services Security 1.1 and token profiles produced by the Web Services Security (WSS) TC which completed its work and closed in 2007. This specification set integrates specific error corrections or editorial changes to the preceding specifications, within the scope of the Web Services Security and this TC.
