Subject: RE: AU paper on fostering Innovation
Thanks Colin, really helpful! Talk tomorrow, cheers, Peter From: Colin Wallis [mailto:Colin.Wallis@dia.govt.nz] Well, because (1) it pre-dates the DTO by 5 years.. and (2) it is/calls for a broader systematic adoption of innovation in the Australian Public Service cf. the DTO which is more a ‘point’ intervention),
one could say the two are not related. But it’s clear that the paper looked to the UK model (see figure 3.,3 on page 26) using the Cabinet Office (pre- dates the GDS), I suspect the establishment of the DTO may have been at least indirectly
informed by the paper. The DTO clearly states its antecedents in the GDS model. I am in London 27/28th April and seeing folks from GDS on both days and the AU DTO is on the agenda.. Cheers Colin From:

On Behalf Of Peter F Brown Hi Colin, Thanks for this. How does this still relate to the more recently established “Digital Transformation Office” (https://www.dto.gov.au/)? I’d be interested to hear some thoughts about that
too! Cheers, Peter From: tgf@lists.oasis-open.org [mailto:tgf@lists.oasis-open.org]
On Behalf Of Colin Wallis Folks This was referenced at a recent seminar and I was struck by its alignment ‘concept-wise’ with the TGF. http://www.apsc.gov.au/__data/assets/pdf_file/0015/10437/empoweringchange.pdf Cheers Colin |
