Subject: [tm-pubsubj] Gentle Intro to Published Subjects - new draft
All, I'm still not entirely happy with it, but I do now have a draft of the reformulated "Gentle Introduction to Published Subjects", which is intended to replace section 2 of the current "final draft" of the first deliverable. You will find it at http://www.ontopia.net/tmp/pubsubj-gentle-intro.htm Lars Marius has already given me some feedback which I haven't had time to work in. I will try to do so tomorrow and get an updated version up by the end of the weekend. Once I've seen the feedback from the rest of this group a revised version can be posted at the OASIS site. For now it's easier for me to have it on Ontopia's site. Hope that's OK with everyone. I am especially interested in feedback from readers of this list (and their friends and relations) who are new to the basic ideas of subject indicators and published subjects. It's very important that this document is understandable to the world at large. At the moment I feel it still takes too much for granted (that's the main reason why I am still dissatisfied with it). I'm also very interested in feedback from people in the RDF/SW community. Steve P.S. The document into which this text will be inserted can be found at http://www.oasis-open.org/committees/tm-pubsubj/docs/recommendations/general.htm I believe section 3 should stand more-or-less as it is. Section 1 could do with a little more discussion in my opinion. -- Steve Pepper, Chief Executive Officer <pepper@ontopia.net> Convenor, ISO/IEC JTC1/SC34/WG3 Editor, XTM (XML Topic Maps) Ontopia AS, Waldemar Thranes gt. 98, N-0175 Oslo, Norway. http://www.ontopia.net/ phone: +47-23233080 GSM: +47-90827246
