Subject: RE: Meaning of template_version in metadata

Hi Denes,

In theory, metadata are intended for informational purposes only, and as a result carry no meaning within the context of the TOSCA language. We will review the specific sections in the specification to make sure weâre not violating this principle.

Thanks,

Chris

Subject: [tosca] Meaning of template_version in metadata

Dear Tosca community

Can you help us how to interpret template_version in the metadata section of the service template.

In Tosca 1.3:

  • 3.10.3.5: This optional metadata keyname can be used to declare a domain specific version of the service template as a single-line string value.
  • 6.3:  The CSAR-Version is defined by the template_version metadata section.

What is the meaning of the template_version CSAR-Version or domain specific version?

This is also present in Tosca 1.X and 2.0.

Cheers Denes
