Subject: SV: [ubl-dev] does BasePrice have a meaning?!?!?!?!?!?
I find that worrisome because I suppose that there could be cases in which the discount is known at the time of the advertisement of the item and times when it is only known at the time of the invoicing of the item. Now in a case where a suit cost $1000 but has been discounted to $900 and is thus advertised as costing $900 with the information, big price-slashing sale, then yes I would assume that $900 is the base price of that suit because after all it is the $900 I will be putting in my order. But in a case where I make an order of $1000 before the sale goes into affect, the order is received after the sale goes into affect, then the base price is $1000 and the discount is $100. This is of course a trivial example, I suppose that there are non-trivial examples in which we will want to know rebates and so forth for various accounting, tax purposes. all dependent on the accounting standards used, tax rules for our country. -----Oprindelig meddelelse----- Fra: Kees Duvekot [mailto:Kees.Duvekot@versatel.com] Sendt: 26. april 2005 09:32 Til: 'ubl-dev@lists.oasis-open.org' Emne: RE: [ubl-dev] does BasePrice have a meaning?!?!?!?!?!? All, please include discounts in the definition .. "The base price is the original price for any product or service, without any additional costs, discounts, allowances, or tax." the word "original" is also debatable, I would suggest something like "published" or "Advertised" Kees Duvekot Business Analist ----------------------------- Versatel Nederland B.V. +31 20 750 1671 - phone +31 20 750 2196 - fax kees.duvekot@versatel.com -----Original Message----- From: Tim McGrath [mailto:tmcgrath@portcomm.com.au] Sent: Tuesday, April 26, 2005 08:53 To: Bryan Rasmussen Cc: 'ubl-dev@lists.oasis-open.org' Subject: Re: [ubl-dev] does BasePrice have a meaning?!?!?!?!?!? Brian we discussed this question (and the subsequent exchanges) at the UBL TC meeting today and have decided that our current definition is deficient. We intend to change the definition for UBL 2.0 and so wish to propose something like... "The base price is the original price for any product or service, without any additional costs, allowances, or tax." Does this seem more meaningful to you?
